Our mission

CEDAR is dedicated to advancing understanding of child maltreatment and adversity, including its impacts on individuals, and responses from families and systems. As clinician-researchers, we are committed to translational work that contributes to practical, real-world outcomes for children and families by improving best practice for the services who support them.

Translational

Research is only effective when it reaches the frontline. Our work is shaped by the realities of practice and returns to it as usable tools and answers.

Evidence-informed

We draw on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches to understand adversity from population patterns to lived experience.

Voice-centred

We aim to platform the voices of our community's most vulnerable members and deliver meaningful, systemic change.

Let's work together.

Researchers, industry partners, and students — we'd like to hear from you.
